Our 120W/cm mercury UV lamps are built for one thing: high-intensity curing. When you’re running a line, you need a concentrated hit of UV flux to snap those inks and coatings into place instantly. At 120W/cm, you’ve got enough muscle to punch through thick ink layers without having to throttle your line speed.
Dealing with the Noise
Here’s the thing about big printing facilities: they’re electrically noisy. Between the massive motors and the frequency converters, you’re dealing with a lot of “dirty” power. Most lamps just can’t handle it. They flicker or lose power the second a big machine kicks in nearby. We fixed this by obsessing over the ballast-lamp interface and the shielding. We built these lamps to keep a steady arc discharge, even when the grid decides to throw a voltage spike your way. By tweaking the electrode geometry and using high-purity quartz, we made the lamps a lot less jumpy. No flickering. No premature burnouts. Just a steady stream of power.
Real-World Performance
You’ll really see the difference when you’ve got three or four presses humming along side-by-side. Cheaper lamps tend to drift. One minute they’re fine, the next your ink is under-cured and feels tacky to the touch. Our 120W/cm units just hold their ground. But a word of advice: 120W/cm puts out a ton of heat.Don’t ignore your cooling system. If your reflectors are caked in dust or your fans are dying, the lamp is going to overheat. It doesn’t matter how stable the electricity is; if there’s no airflow, that quartz envelope is going to crack under the stress. Keep it cool, and it’ll last. We designed these to be a simple drop-in replacement. Wire them up, set your power, and you’re done. You won’t have to spend your morning hunting for a “sweet spot” every time a motor starts up across the room.
