The Nitty-Gritty on Power
We build these lamps to survive the grind of an industrial conveyor. They’re designed for high current and a steady plasma arc. Here’s the trick: if you bump up the wattage, you get more UV irradiance per square centimeter. More power equals more speed. But be careful with your ballast. Heat and Glass
The “skin” of the lamp is made from high-purity fused quartz. We do this because regular glass actually sucks up UV light. With fused quartz, the light just sails right through. We also beef up the end-caps to make sure no gas leaks out. But look, these lamps gethot. I mean really hot. You can’t skim on your cooling. Whether you’re using fans or water-cooling jackets, make sure they can actually handle the load. If the housing overheats, that quartz is going to stress and eventually crack. Nobody wants to deal with a shattered lamp mid-shift.
